Recap: Meredith-Cronkite Fellowship Program

Two weeks ago, I participated in the Meredith-Cronkite fellowship program in Phoenix, AZ. It was a week-long intensive program designed to prepare future broadcast journalists for producing great stories and excelling in the field. I spent my time with nine other talented student journalists, listening to KPHO CBS 5’s reporters, editors, videographers and news directors who shared words of encouragement and valuable advice. In addition, I used the facilities inside the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication for tracking and editing.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience for many reasons. The main one being, the opportunity to receive hands-on experience doing the things that make me happy. It has made me even more eager to begin reporting in the field.
As a fellow, I produced a video package, did a live shot and anchored a newscast.

My video package surrounded the popularity of coworking spaces among entrepreneurs in Phoenix, AZ . Read more about my story, here on CBS5AZ.com.
