Many people are searching for a new job in the new year, and if you’re one of them, there are several upcoming tech-related events in the DMV.

In Fairfax County, a free tech and cyber hiring event is scheduled for Jan. 22 at Capital One Hall in Tysons. More than 40 employers are expected to attend, hiring across fields such as technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, aerospace and health care. Attendees can also take advantage of free professional headshots.

Meanwhile in Maryland, the 7th Annual Technology Transformation Conference will take place March 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at The Hall at Maryland Live! Hotel and Casino in Hanover. Tickets are between $299 and $349.

In other tech news, my latest blog post highlights a robotaxi company I recently spotted testing vehicles in Georgetown. The company, Zoox, operates autonomous vehicles that resemble mini shuttles. While Zoox is already active on the West Coast, testing is still underway in the District of Columbia. The move could signal new competition for Waymo.
